Within scope of the Local Anti-Homophobia Meetings, Kaos GL visited 17 different cities during 2017, and we have started to plan new year.

Local Meetings hit the road 26 times in 2017!

In the scope of the Local Anti-Homophpbia Meetings, Kaos GL organized events for the first time in Amasya, Kırıkkale and Giresun. During the year, 26 events were organized in 17 different cities.

Cities visited during 2017 in the scope of the Local Meetings are as follows: Diyarbakır, Eskişehir, Hatay, İzmir, Adana, Manisa, Amasya, Antalya, Balıkesir, Kırıkkale, Muğla, Çanakkale, Bursa, Edirne, İstanbul, Giresun, Zonguldak.

Local Meetings had visited 35 cities in 2016, and 55 events had been organized in total.

What is the International Anti-Homophobia Meeting?

International Anti-Homophobia Meeting is an annual international event against homophobia and transphobia which is coordinated by Kaos GL and organized since 2006, during the week of May 17.

Kaos GL Association is involved in various activities in social, cultural and academic fields for the enhancement of human rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite and Transsexual (LGBT) individuals in the face of discrimination. With this event, Kaos GL aims to establish a basis to discuss and increase the visibility of discrimination against LGBT individuals.

17th of May, the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia, is the day of acting and standing up against all acts of physical, moral or symbolic violence in relation to Gender Identity and Sexual Orientations.

International Anti-Homophobia Meeting is open to the participation of any individual who wishes to discuss the problems of LGBT individuals and homophobia in general, and to liberate homosexuals and heterosexuals together. As a result of the webs woven in the fight against discrimination, this event has now gone beyond the borders of Ankara and reached cities all around Turkey.
