The updated third edition of Kaos GL Association's "Don't Be Afraid to Say: Lesbian" brochure focusing on lesbian identity is out now.
"Don't Be Afraid to Say: Lesbian" brochure has been updated. The first edition of the brochure was published by Kaos GL Association on April 26, Lesbian Visibility Day in 2018.
The updated third edition of the brochure features six sections, namely: "Terms and Definitions, "Don't Be Afraid to Say: Lesbian," "Frequently Asked Questions to Lesbians," "Stereotype: You Don't Look Like a Lesbian At All," "Lesbian Organization: Sappho's Daughters and Lesbian Bisexual Feminists" and "There's a History Here: The Women to Women Story Contest."
The first part focuses on the general concepts of LGBTI+ identities. The section "Don't Be Afraid to Say: Lesbian" deals with the origin of the word lesbian. In the sections “Frequently Asked Questions to Lesbians” and “Stereotype: You Don't Look Like a Lesbian at All”, common prejudices about lesbians are discussed. "Lesbian Organization: Sappho's Daughters and Lesbian Bisexual Feminists" section, draws attention to two lesbian organizations in Turkey's history. Finally, in the section "There's a History Here: The Women to Women Story Contest", discusses the history of the Women to Women Story Contest, which is virtually the homosexual and bisexual women literature archive of Kaos GL.
