German Embassy after the ban

Governorship of Ankara, capital city of Turkey banned German LGBTI Film Days co-organized by German Embassy, Pink Life QueerFest and Büyülüfener Cinemas. Governorship claimed that “film days could incite hater or be targeted by terror attacks”.

The organizers Pink Life Queerfest said that this decision deprives LGBTI+ people of their constitutional rights and reminded that the duty of the Governorship is not to ban a festival but take necessary action to protect it.

German State Minister Michael Roth also criticized the decision via their Twitter account. Roth said that German Embassy displays rainbow flag through embassy building as a response to ban.
