Kaos GL Ecological Forum

Kaos GL will organize a forum to discuss ecological policies, the fields of struggle and resistance practices.

 

‘Kaos GL Ecological Forum’ will be organized on Saturday, 29th of October in Ankara in the Meeting Hall of TMMOB (The Union of Turkish Engineers and Architects).

 

In the first session of the Forum that consists two parts, the speakers will make presentations on ecological policies. In the second session, the policies of climate, energy and food policies will be discussed and the resistance practices from Munzur, Hopa and Gebze will be conveyed.

 

The first session will commence at 13:00 in, the Meeting Hall of TMMOB The Chamber of Architects, Konur Street and will be moderated by Mutlu Dulkadir.

 

Sezgin Ata will participate in the session ‘Ecological Policies’ with his presentation titled ‘Social Ecology’ , Ümit Şahin with ‘The Greens’, Hande Atay with ‘Ecosocialism’, Burcu Çelik & Güray Tezcan with ‘Freedom of the Human-Animal-Nature’, and Anıl Altun with ‘Speciesism, Sexism, Patriarchy, Similarities of Exploitation and Forms of Domination’.

 

The second session will be on ‘The Fields of Struggle and Resistance Practices’ and will commence at 15:00, it will be moderated by Remzi Altunpolat.

 

Gaye Yılmaz will participate with her presentation titled ‘The Commoditization of Water’, Cömert Uygar Erdem with ‘Agricultural Industrialization and Climate Justice’, Mustafa Eberliköse ‘Artvin Experiences’, İbrahim Ögeyik with ‘Dersim Experiences’ and Ümit Tatar with ‘The Struggle Against Nuclear and Thermal Energy in Sinop and Gebze’.

 

The Forum organized by Kaos GL will commence on 29 October 2011 at 13:00, in the Meeting Hall of TMMOB Chamber of Architects, the address is Konur Street 4/5 Kızılay-Ankara.

 

Kaos GL Magazine tried to tell the LGBT Community what was troubling Bergama villagers on its 30th issue, dated May 1997.

 

During the struggle of Bergama villagers, the environmental problem became a current issue once again.  Bergama villagers unveiled that their struggle on this field was neither a hobby nor a weekend event in their struggle against Eurogold Company.

 

Today, what ‘environmental problem’ is and is not is revealed by the continuing and developing ecological resistance practices from Mersin to Sinop, from Dersim to Çanakkale.

 

It becomes easier and desirable to make nets between the fields of struggle and the resistance practices to inspire each other due to recognition of the similarities between exploitation and the forms of domination.
