The event attracted a huge media attention and its success was saluted with pride and relief alike.

Despite the rain, a lot of people gathered in the Center of Belgrade to fly rainbow balloons and distribute publications and booklets. Understandably in a country where LGBT events systematically attract virulent opposition, including physical attacks on activists by neo-fascist groups, the event attracted a huge media attention and its success was saluted with pride and relief alike.

Serbian organization Labris set up a stand in the center of Belgrade and passed out organizational brochures, publications and books on LGBT rights and coming out on May 17 in celebration of this year’s IDAHO. People also were given a balloon with a message inside containing some useful information about LGBT people. Two women from Labris were at the stand to answer any questions from the public.

Following this, Labris took part in a debate entitled "Let’s learn from the rainbow book" aimed at highlighting homophobic and discriminatory content in high school textbooks.

That night, Labris joined a street performance entitled "Let’s highlight homophobic violence" coordinated by Belgrade’s Women in Black organization.
