People’s Democratic Party (HDP) İstanbul MP Züleyha Gülüm requested a parliamentary investigation about discrimination on December 1 World AIDS Day.

Gülüm requested a parliamentary investigation “to break down prejudices, eliminate discrimination and violation of rights and ensure integrative and rights-based policies by determining the measures to be taken after research about the inadequacies in the mechanism for combating HIV / AIDS”.

Discrimination is everywhere: Work, hospital, school, media…

Reminding that people living with HIV are subjected to a violation of rights due to prejudices and discriminatory practices besides the health problems they experience, Gülüm shared the findings of “The 2021 Report on Human Rights Violations experienced by people living with HIV in Turkey” launched by Poizitif-iz Association.
