Kaos GL Association met with refugee LGBTI+'s living in Denizli in queer cartoon workshop, which is organized online due to pandemic measures.

The queer cartoon workshop, which took place on October 4th, held by cartoonist Aslı Alpar, an editor of Kaos GL, and Emre Yilmaz from the Cartoon Workshop. Participants of the workshop used caricature and humor as a way of coping up with discrimination against sexual orientation and gender identity.

In the workshop, which was attended by about 10 people, cartoons on the subject of "Being LGBTI+ in pandemic" were drawn after a sample cartoon drawing.

Using queer humor against the pandemic

In the workshop, basic cartoon techniques were taught and the question 'how to develop humor against heterosexism, sexism, bi-gender regime' was discussed.

Participants drew against the challenges of pandemic, xenophobia, homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia. The workshop ended after the evaluation of the cartoons drawn in the workshop.
