Speaking at the union of Ankara University political science graduates, poet and writer Karin Karakaşlı talked about the Kaos GL Women to Women Story Contest, for which she also served as a jury member.
The union of Ankara University political science graduates hosted poet and writer Karin Karakaşlı as part of its Literature Meetings. Karakaşlı, who was also one of the jury members of the Kaos GL Women to Women Story Contest last semester, met with her readers on Saturday, December 28.
In the conversation moderated by Oğulcan Özgenç, Karakaşlı talked about her writing journey. Then she signed her books.
Karakaşlı also mentioned the Women to Women Story Contest in her speech. Saying that the contest “has a very special place in her heart”, Karakaşlı said:
“It is a very difficult thing to be able to hand over your writing to someone, it is like taking out your heart and handing it over. The contest provides a great atmosphere of trust. It's an environment that dares experimentation, full of humor, where untold stories are voiced.”

Karakaşlı also stated that she had the chance to read technically and look at the kitchen of the work during her jury membership and said, “My commitment to the beauty of literature has multiplied once again thanks to the jury membership in the contest.”
Emphasizing that the Women to Women Story Contest is an example of how disciplines feed each other, Karakaşlı said, “When you sit down to write, what feeds you the most may not be other books that have been written. You can be inspired by a TV series or a movie or the conversation at the next table when you are bored. The important thing is not to lose your sense of observation and curiosity.”
