Kadınlar Birlikte Güçlü (Women are Strong Together) carried out a protest in Kadıköy.
Calling people by walking around on the streets and chanting “Women’s rebellion will create the difference”, Kadınlar Birlikte Güçlü gathered in front of Beşiktaş İskele in Kadıköy, on January 8.
The demands aggregated by asking women living in various neighborhoods were read out in the square. The fragmentary banners, written demands on, were sewn together in the square. Then press statement was read out:
“We barely escape our lives from that ‘holy’ families. 2022 was a year in which we continued to struggle against violence, exploitation and abuse which protected and supported under color of ‘family’. May 2023 be a year in which we change the order that legitimizes this violence, with our rebellion!”
