Aylime Aslı Demir from Kaos GL had a speech in Ege University Women’s Studies Department event organized in dedication to 8th of March.

A panel on “Thinking of Womanhood Experiences” was organized by the student from Ege University Women’s Studies Department in dedication to 8th of March in Izmir Tepekule Congress Center on 10th of March. 

During the event, some women-themed short movies were screened firstly. Directors of the short films, Simay Çalışkan, Nergis Karadağ and Zeynep Oral as well as Academic and Cultural Studies Program Coordinator Aylime Aslı Demir had speeches in the panel session.

After the movie screening session, different womenhood experiences, gendered places, concepts of “sex” and “gender” were discussed with a queer perspective, and LGBTI+ representation in cinema were brought to the agenda.
