İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a public prosecution against 70 people, who were detained using police violence.

We talked about the case filed against 70 persons, who were detained for using police violence while exercising their right to assembly and demonstration, with lawyer Mehmet Şeren from UniKuir Association.

Att. Şeren reminded us that no one could be judged due to using their assembly and demonstration right, which is among the fundamental rights, irrespectively of the result of the case. Remarking that the Pride Marches are among the fundamental rights according to the decisions of divisional courts and the Constitutional Court, Şeren emphasized that the lawsuits are not juridical, but political.
