We do not accept this censorship, which constitutes a serious attack on freedom of expression, and specifically on the freedom of expression of LGBTI+ people.

The X (formerly Twitter) account of our online newspaper KaosGL.org, which operates under the Kaos GL Association, has been blocked in Turkey. Our account @kaosgl, which has 47,500 followers, is now inaccessible to our readers in Turkey.
X has not provided us with any notification regarding this restriction. When visiting our page, users encounter the message that it has been “withheld in Turkey in response to a legal demand.”
We do not accept this censorship, which constitutes a serious attack on freedom of expression, and specifically on the freedom of expression of LGBTI+ people. We find it particularly telling that the account of a media outlet reporting on LGBTI+ issues has been censored during LGBTI+ Pride Month.
Recently, the censorship has become all the more blatant, with the accounts of numerous women's organizations also being blocked on X.
We will continue to tell the stories of LGBTI+ people, that is, our own stories, and pursue rights-based journalism. This journey, which we began 31 years ago with the Kaos GL magazine, will continue across every platform and every path. As stated in the press release of the Ankara Pride March: this is not just a struggle for identity; this is a defense of life itself.
We will continue broadcasting on X as soon as possible. KaosGL.org cannot be silenced!
