A strategy document targeting LGBTI+ community will be prepared as part of the “Action Plan for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family” will be prepared under the responsibility of the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

One of the strategic goals of the “Vision Document and Action Plan for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family,” which targets LGBTI+ community with terms like “harmful movements” and “desexualisation project,” is “strengthening the fight against violence, harmful movements, and habits that threaten the family.”

To achieve this mentioned strategic goal, a strategy document will be prepared involving all ministries, the Presidency of Religious Affairs, and non-governmental organizations. The Action Plan includes the following statements regarding this strategy document: “A strategy document setting out standards for combating global desexualisation projects will be prepared.”

The responsible institution is the Ministry of Family and Social Services, and the strategy document is expected to be prepared by 2028.

Documentaries will be produced to counter “harmful movements threatening the family,” and existing resources will be translated into Turkish

Additionally, as part of the strategic target, the Ministry plans to collaborate with universities to conduct “identification and evaluation studies on current risk factors that threaten the family and society.”

Another initiative planned under the Vision Document and Action Plan involves “creating documentaries/programs on the negative effects of harmful trends and habits that threaten families, human nature, rights, family structure, and society, especially focusing on children,” and “translating existing resources into Turkish.” The Ministry of Family and Social Services, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and national and local media organizations will collaborate on this initiative, with Radio and Television Supreme Court (RTÜK) as the responsible institution.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs included in the Action Plan

According to the Vision Document and Action Plan, cooperation with countries, international organizations, and family-oriented non-governmental organizations on the protection and strengthening of the family is anticipated. This activity, which involves establishing protocols with these organizations, designates the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the “relevant institution and organization” to participate.

Additionally, another activity targeting LGBTI+ community within the strategic goals of the Action Plan will involve “work on conceptual standards related to the protection and strengthening of the family.” In order to achieve this goal, the Ministry will collaborate with all ministries, universities, and non-governmental organizations.
