Speaking at the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, AKP Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu targeted LGBTI+'s by saying “It is vital to give the biggest struggle against LGBT in the Family Year”.
On 11 March, deputy group chairpersons of political parties made evaluations on the agenda at the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
AKP Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu targeted LGBTI+'s in his speech.
Claiming that unimaginable steps have been taken for women under the leadership of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Yenişehirlioğlu reminded that 2025 was declared the ‘Family Year’ and targeted LGBTI+ persons with the expressions ‘desexualisation’ and ‘weapon of mass destruction’:
"It is obvious how vital it is to fight the biggest struggle in the Family Year against the LGBT formation that attacks the institution of the family by desexualising human beings. This structure is nothing but a weapon of mass destruction designed to make people forget the purpose of creation and to eliminate the values that sustain society. This trap aims to isolate people by destroying the family institution, which is the pillar and the strongest building block of society, and to establish a chaos order by detaching individuals from spirituality and solidarity. They attack the walls of our fortress of civilisation, which they want to destroy by corrupting it, with artillery shells called ‘popular culture’, they enslave people with false promises of freedom, and they offer oleander as a ‘blessing’ with hypocritical representatives."
