Keskesor LGBTI+, Cultural Research Center for Peace and Diyarbakır Bar Association LGBTI+ Commission made a joint statement regarding the attack targeting LGBTI+s, who desired to attend Newroz Festival with their rainbow flags, by a group of men.
It is underlined that there was a security flaw in the area and the organizational committee of Newroz had did nothing to prevent the attackers, although LGBTI+ organizations had expressed themselves, told the level of violence experienced in the previous years and demanded necessary measures to be taken, within the scope of the joint statement.
