Middle East Technical University (METU) Gender Studies Club organized a panel with the participation of Rainbow Family Group who are parents having LGBTI+ children.
During the panel session, parents told about their experiences after coming-out processes of their LGBTI+ children.
Normally, the event was planned to be organized officially in the campus. However, METU Rectorate has banned the event due to the relation of LGBT- rainbow. In spite of the ban, METU LGBTI+Solidarity could successfully organize the event.
METU Gender Studies Club was planning to organize an event at METU; however, Middle East Technical University (METU) Rectorate has banned the event due to the “relation of rainbow-LGBT”. After the ban, METU LGBTI+ Solidarity Group has issued a call for solidarity.
