After Mil Diyanet-Sen and Memur-Sen, Eğitim Bir-Sen also targeted LGBTI+ individuals with the “Constitution Should Change, Family Should Be Protected” campaign.

Another hate campaign targeting LGBTI+ individuals has been added. Eğitim Bir-Sen, which is among the trade unions representing people working in the education sector in Turkey, joined the anti-LGBTI+ petition campaigns initiated by Mil-Diyanet-Sen and Memur-Sen.
As part of the launched anti-LGBTI+ petition campaign, it is being requested to add the sentences "The family consists of a woman and a man" and "The foundation of family relations is marriage" to the constitution.
Mustafa Sarıgeçili, the President of the Eğitim-Bir-Sen Adana Branch, targeted LGBTI+ individuals in his speech about the launched hate campaign titled "Constitution Should Change, Family Should Be Protected," using terms such as "deviant global lobbies," "abnormality," "corrupting the family," and "gender-neutralization."
Sarıgeçili, claiming that family life has been harmed, said:
“These forces, which present abnormality and deviance as freedom through the ideology of gender, are conducting a cultural and moral degeneration operation that weakens and dismantles the family through the social media companies, fashion industry, TV series and film industry, and digital streaming platforms they control. Some groups funded by deviant global lobbies are imposing gender neutrality by rejecting biological sex, promoting homosexuality, normalizing the perversion they call same-sex marriage, and attempting to corrupt the family, which is a moral structure.”
Sarıgeçili, claiming that targeting the family is a "matter of survival," explained the hate campaign with the following words:
“We cannot see these deviant behaviors as rights and freedoms. It is our responsibility and duty to stand against these forces, which position themselves to create identityless, genderless, devalued, and unhealthy individuals, and to protect our families. We state that it is not a matter of preference but a necessity for the state to take all necessary measures in this vital issue. At this point, we raise our voices against the attacks on the family, say 'Family matters,' and launch a petition campaign to ensure that concrete provisions protecting the family are included in the Constitution. We demand that the sentences 'The family consists of a woman and a man. The foundation of family relations is marriage' be added to the first paragraph of Article 41 of the Constitution, so that the family institution is not open to corruption and does not become a ground for the deviant forces to trample on.”
