In her award speech, Florence Konstantina Delight emphasized the invigorating power of transfeminism:

“After a childhood of bullying, I am so happy and grateful to be here with you with my magnified bun. I always remember the power of the inspiration I received from our struggle as LGBTI+ night workers. And here we are all together.

The greatest support I have received in this struggle has been the solidarity we have built with trans people, sex workers and all feminists. Instead of meddling with each other, we continue to meddle with life and the agenda together. The most important thing I have learnt in this process is the invigorating power of trans feminism. We are strong when we are together. I salute all the people we have crossed paths with and will cross paths with in our struggle, wherever you are resisting or insisting on.”

Çiçek Tahaoğlu said they had accepted the award with the hope of increasing visibility and feminist media:

“We are happy to have created a newsletter like Salçalı Gündem at a time when the agenda is both overwhelming and our right to receive news is hindered in many ways. We would be happy if we could inspire you a little. We receive this award with the hope that the visibility of women and LGBTI+ in the media and feminist media platforms will increase.”
