The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV) has published an information note on the oppression, obstacles, and difficulties faced by human rights defenders in Turkey.
According to the note; 1098 rights defenders, including 119 women and LGBTI+ rights defenders, and 14 environmental rights defenders, were detained in 6 months.
124 demonstrations and protests, 23 of which were women's and LGBTI+ rights were attacked and blocked by the police. 55 hearings were held in which 338 people were tried, including more than 20 lawyers, 87 women and LGBTI+ rights defenders, and 7 environmental activists.
An investigation was launched against the Izmir Bar Association and Diyarbakır Bar Association's administrations for their statements regarding LGBTI+ rights.
