Mustafa Destici, Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), attended the “Annelerle Gönül Sofrası” program organized by the BBP Women’s Branch Istanbul Provincial Directorate in Esenyurt on Saturday, May 17. In his speech, Destici targeted LGBTI+ individuals.

As reported by T24, Destici claimed that the institution of the family is under major attack and used expressions such as “enemy of Turkish-Islam,” “life outside the family,” and “degendering,” saying:

“Unfortunately, in the last century, our family institution has been subjected to major attacks. Enemies of Turkish-Islam are attacking the family and carrying out every kind of argument, advertisement, and policy that will prevent us from establishing families. They are trying to promote degendering and life outside the family. They are trying to encourage couples to continue their lives with few children, or if possible, no children at all.”

Claiming that “dynamite is being placed at the root of our family structure” and that women’s minds are being brainwashed, Destici emphasized the need to continue the struggle and continued his hate speech as follows:

“These things are, unfortunately, being intricately woven into daytime programs mostly watched by our women and evening TV series, effectively brainwashing our women, so to speak, and placing dynamite at the root of our family structure. We must be prepared against these and must not abandon the struggle.”
