“Can Anyone Hear Me?” campaign from Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Kaos GL - News Portal for LGBTI+

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) asks #SesimiDuyanVarmı? (Can Anyone Hear Me?) on social media to draw attention to the problems in the pandemic.

Unemployment, problems of young people and children, the experiences of education and healthcare workers in the pandemic, the closure of theaters, restrictions on citizens over 65 years of age, domestic violence, the state of café-bar employees are some of the issues raised by the HDP.

The HDP also emphasized the experiences of LGBTI+'s during the pandemic as part of the campaign. "I wish there was a vaccine for hate," the HDP said, summing up the pandemic experiences of LGBTI+'s:

"LGBTI+'s in Turkey has become an even more vulnerable community during Covid-19 pandemic and have had serious problems in accessing rights, especially the right to life, education, health and work. During the pandemic, hate speech against LGBTI+'s became widespread and domestic violence increased."
