BTK said the decision was taken in line with the Constitution's provisions on “protection of family and children” and “protection of youth”.
Following recent complaints from readers that they could not access the website, the online newspaper KaosGL.org learned that the website was blocked in the “family and child” profiles.
While the decision that KaosGL.org was blocked in the “family” and “child” profiles as part of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority's (BTK) Safe Net project was not notified to the institution, a query on guvenlinet.org revealed that the blocking was effective as of September 18.

Kaos GL applied for information about the blocking through the Presidential Communication Presidency (CIMER) and received a response from the BTK. BTK said that KaosGL.org was blocked in the family and child profiles “in line with the provisions of Article 41 titled ‘Protection of the family and children's rights’ and Article 58 titled ‘Protection of youth’ of the Constitution”.
