After the cabinet meeting, Erdoğan once again targeted LGBTI+ individuals in his Address to the Nation, saying: “Our struggle will continue with determination.”

President and AKP Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan targeted LGBTI+ people in his Address to the Nation yesterday (June 2), following the cabinet meeting.
Erdoğan, who recently announced the 2023-2036 period as the “Decade of the Family” at the International Family Forum held in Istanbul, attended by ministers from various countries, targeted LGBTI+ people using phrases like “global bullying” and “degenderization”:
“We will not only focus on this year but will use the next 10 years to implement policies that prioritize the family. In the face of growing threats, we will take steps to strengthen the institution of the family, make it easier for our youth to start families, and raise our declining population growth rate back to the necessary level. Our struggle against degenderization policies, which have turned into a form of global bullying, will continue with determination.”
