Göktaş, who used the terms “degendering” and “marginal ideologies,” announced that on May 22-23, they will come together with ministers and academics from different countries at the International Family Forum for global cooperation.

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş spoke at the "Family and Media: Global Perspectives in the Digital Age International Family Symposium," held at the headquarters of Memur-Sen, which is currently running an anti-LGBTI+ signature campaign, as part of May 15 "International Family Day."

Once again targeting LGBTI+ people, Göktaş used terms such as “degendering” and “marginal ideologies” and said that harmful trends are being imposed on society through digital platforms:

“Such narratives that consider starting a family unnecessary undermine our social bonds. Violence-related content and violations of privacy spread via television and the internet cause concerns within families. Experts emphasize that uncontrolled digital addiction increases loneliness, depression, and behavioral problems in children. For this reason, we cannot see media merely as a sector. We cannot ignore news, programs, and series produced out of rating concerns, or content created solely for views and clicks.”

Göktaş stated that on May 22-23, they will bring together ministers, policymakers, and academics from different countries at the International Family Forum, saying:

“We have gained the opportunity to lead the sharing of family-strengthening policies and best practices not only in our country but also at the international level. The International Family Forum, which we will hold next week, will be an important meeting. By bringing together ministers, policymakers, experts, and academics from different countries, we will create a global platform for cooperation in the field of protecting and strengthening the family.”
