In a press conference held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey yesterday (4 February), Faruk Dinç, Mersin MP of the extremist Islamist HÜDA PAR, demanded the blocking of access to the social media platform TikTok and targeted LGBTI+ people.
Claiming that TikTok has become a security problem for both the world and Turkey and a danger that causes moral degeneration, Dinç targeted LGBTI+s by using the expressions ‘perversion’:
‘The TikTok platform unfortunately corrupts our youth, degenerates our families and causes moral erosion. On this platform, obscene content, propaganda of LGBT deviants and moral corruption are broadcast.’
Reminding that 2025 was determined as the ‘Year of the Family’, Dinç continued his words as follows:
‘Concrete projects and steps should be taken to fill the Year of the Family. First of all, platforms such as TikTok, which degenerate our family structure and degenerate our youth and distract our youth from our own civilisation values, should be blocked. It is the duty of the state to protect the youth and the family.’
