In the first street action of the Feminists Against Femicides campaign, murdered trans women Hande Kader and Hande Buse Şeker were reminded.

Feminists Against Femicide Campaign Group held its first street action. Feminists gathered at Beşiktaş Square in Istanbul yesterday (December 22) and asked “Who is the murderer?”.
Holding a banner reading “Women are being killed, who is the murderer? It's not a coincidence, it's always men”, the feminists said, “It's time to talk about what men do. What they do to women, what they do with the opportunities provided by patriarchy.”
In the statement, the murders of trans women Hande Kader and Hande Buse Şeker were also reminded with the following sentences:
“When trans women are murdered, their killers are either not found or go unpunished because they were already sex workers. Sometimes these killers are even police officers like Hande Buse Şeker's killer. The lives of trans people are constantly devalued.”
The statement drew attention to the fact that Hande Kader's murder was left unsolved by saying “The murderer was not found”:
“One or several men murdered trans activist Hande Kader. Her body was found in a wooded area in Istanbul in 2016. In the forensic report, it was determined that Hande was raped, beaten and burned. The perpetrators of Hande's murder, who was last seen getting into a client's car in Harbiye, have not been found or prosecuted. In 2015, Hande was on the agenda with her photographs of the police preventing the march during the banned pride march. The men who killed Hande have not been found or put on trial.”
Feminists chanted “Trans murders are political” slogans after the statement.
