Hate attack in Ankara! Kaos GL - News Portal for LGBTI+

Staff working in the Aspava Kebab Restaurants on the Esat Street of Ankara organized a homophobic attack on October 14th at around 2:00 a.m.

U., one of the five victims, described the attack to kaosGL.org:

We were walking with our friends to the restaurants on Esat Street. One delivery bike stopped next to us just as we got close to the restaurant. There were two of them, the one that drives the motorbike slapped a friend of us while shouting "Faggots! What are you doing here?". Upon our reaction and shouts, they went to the front side of the restaurant. So we went to the restaurant too, where 15 or 20 people (couriers of the Aspava) tried to lynch us. Three people who followed us to the alley on our way to our home while we were escaping, attacked and beat us saying "There are faggots in our neighborhood, we will not have them".

U. stated that they will press charges against the assailants.
