A group of men attacked trans women on the street with iron clubs. Relatives of the victim women contacted BİZ Association and said, “These attacks are carried out at regular intervals”.
A group of male attackers, ranging from 5 to 10, attacked trans women on the street, with pipes and iron clubs. Antalya BİZ Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Studies Association contacted the relatives of the victim women. K., one of the relatives, said, "These attacks are carried out at regular intervals" and that this was not the first attack.
“We condemn all kinds of violence!”
BİZ Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Studies Association have said, "Despite hate, hooray life!" in the statement they have published against the attacks:
"For several days, 5-10 men are attacking trans women on the street with pipes and iron clubs in their hands, on Antalya’s Teomanpaşa Street. They chase and attack trans women who go out to the streets, shouting things like "I found two", very much like a witch hunt.
“A friend of the victim trans women, K., who shared the details of the incident to the Biz Association, has told that these attacks are being carried out continuously on regular intervals, and they have no other way of protecting themselves than going into hiding when they see crowded groups.”
“We condemn all kinds of violence against trans women. Say no to hate, yes to life!”
