The Alternative Informatics Association and the Social Information and Communication Association have updated the guide informing about legal regulations on gender-based digital violence and digital security.
The “How to Fight Digital Gender-Based Violence: A Guide”, which was first published in 2019, was updated and extended.
The guide, which was published both in Turkish and in English, was prepared by Gülüm Şener, İlden Dirini Nurcihan Temur, Şebnem Ahi, Şevket Uyanık and Zeynep Özarslan.
The guide includes sections on “What Is Digital Gender-Based Violence?”, “Digital Security Tips”, “Tactics Against Digital Harassment”, “Legal Aspects Of Digital Violence in Turkey”, “Glossary of Digital Violence” and the references. ”
Digital violence is defined as “the violence which takes place on digital media, which is directed towards us due to our gender-based identities, influencing our lives us at an unproportional extent” in the guide.
