The report published by the Human Rights Association (HRA) Women’s Commission, drew attention to the rights violations that LGBTI+’s are exposed to during the pandemic.

The Human Rights Association (IHD) Women's Commission published a report to make the rights violations faced by women in the pandemic process from March 11to May 11 visible, drew attention to the violations faced by the LGBTI+'s.

The report says, “The measures that taken due to the Covid-19 outbreak, which was declared as a Pandemic on March 11, 2020, regretfully brings the threat of every kind of violence onto both women and the children” and lists the violations that took place in the 2-month period.

The statement of Ali Erbaş, the Chairperson of Religious Affairs Administration of Turkey that he said in the khutbah of April 24 as “all evil and epidemics are arises from homosexuality”, is featured under the reports section of “Violation of the rights of LGBTI+ individuals”.

While reminding the statements of solidarity made by the HRA’s Ankara Branch and followed by the Bar Associations, the report continues; “Both the Human Rights Association and the Bar Associations have faced threats and hate speeches, while some of the Bar Associations have been subjected to investigations”.
