At a press conference in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman Şehzade Demir said that they took Bulgaria's anti-LGBTI+ law as an example and attacked LGBTI+'s freedom of association.
Islamist political party HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairperson Şehzade Demir held a press conference at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. In his press conference yesterday (August 13), Demir again targeted LGBTI+'s.
Recalling the anti-LGBTI+ law in Bulgaria, Demir said, "With the amendment of the law, propaganda of this perversion and the subject of 'non-biological sexual orientation' were banned in schools" and added, "This attitude should be an example for Turkey."
In his speech, in which he used hate speech by calling LGBTI+'s "deviant", Demir said:
"The global evil foci, who want to enslave societies by destroying the family institution and corrupting the youth, systematically and in an organized manner, impose a model of a society without marriage, without family, without sex and without descendants. Especially Zionist-funded organizations and platforms; With the monopoly they have created in a wide range from sports to politics, from culture and arts to cinema, they try to spread the perversion by propagandizing the said perversion."
Referring to the constitutional amendment targeting LGBTI+s, Demir said, "The organization, activities and all kinds of propaganda of the perversion lobby under the guise of so-called non-governmental organizations should be banned and criminalized. Before the May 2023 elections, the amendment to Article 41 of the Constitution on the 'protection of the family', which the government announced and promised before the May 2023 elections, should be implemented as soon as possible. The political institution as a whole, especially the state, the media, academia and non-governmental organizations are responsible for the protection of the family, youth and society from all kinds of deviant and harmful movements and must fulfill the requirements of this responsibility."
