International Labor Film Festival expresses solidarity with KuirFest: “We refuse to acknowledge the ban order of the Ankara Governorship!” Kaos GL - News Portal for LGBTI+

International Labor Film Festival shared the following statements on their social media account to in order to stand in solidarity with KuirFest:

“The 12th Pink Life KuirFest, scheduled to be held in Ankara from February 23rd to 25th, has been prohibited by the Ankara Governorship. This isn’t the first time KuirFest, which exists for 12 years in order to build a queer festival culture in Turkey and for LGBTI+ representations to gain the right to representation in cinemas in Turkey, has faced such bans. We have previously rallied against a similar ban in 2017 with the motto ‘We Stand Together’. Once again, in defiance of censorship and bans, we reaffirm our solidarity with the slogan ‘We Stand Together’, refusing to acknowledge this unlawful ban imposed by the Ankara Governorship! As the International Labor Film Festival, we believe that the liberation of lubunyas (queers) will lead to the liberation of non-lubunyas! We are not equal, you are going to fair up. Long live the struggle for uncensored, free cinema!”
