Due to COVID-19 precautions, Kaos GL has postponed all activities including Mersin Media School on March 28 and International Lesbian Conference on 24-26 April to a later date.
Kaos GL Association announced that it has postponed all activities planned to take place until May 2 until a later date as part of the measures taken to prevent the spread of the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19), which the World Health Organization has defined as a pandemic.
Within the scope of Academic Cultural Studies, Human Rights, Media and Communication and Refugee Rights programs, Kaos GL was planning to organize open or closed events including workshops, panels, meetings, trainings, etc. However, the association has just announced as follows that all these events has been postponed to a later date (to be determined), and any participation on behalf of Kaos GL to loca lor international events was cancelled:
“Due to COVID-19, defined as a pandemic by World Health Organization and a case of which has also been encountered in Turkey for the first time on March 11, we, as Kaos GL Association had to take many serious measures.
“We have to announce that any events including workshops, meetings, trainings, panels, etc. planned to take place until May 2 by Kaos GL Association has been postponed to a later date. When we have the opportunity to perform these trainings safely, we will be sharing new time/ date information with you.
“Thank you for your understanding. Hope to see you soon.”
Besides the closed events organized via private invitations, LGBTI+ Media School planned to take place on March 28 in Mersin and International Lesbian* Conference planned to take place 24-26 April in Izmir have also been postponed to a later date.
Publishing activities including Kaos GL Magazine and KaosGL.org online newspaper, and online consultancy services of the association will continue.
