May 17 and Kaos GL associations visited the Confederation of Public Employees' Trade Unions (KESK) Headquarters.

KESK Co-President Ahmet Karagöz, Secretary General Sevgi Yılmaz, Education, Organizing and Press Secretary Sema Pınar and Women's Secretary Döne Gevher Koyun hosted Defne Güzel, Seçin Tuncel and Yıldız Tar from May 17 and Kaos GL.

During the meeting, Co-General President Karagöz and KESK executives expressed their work for equality as a confederation and their sensitivity to the rights of LGBTI+ public workers. May 17 and Kaos GL representatives drew attention to the increase in anti-LGBTI+ political violence within the scope of the Family Year and emphasized that it is important to move forward on a common ground with the labor union struggle.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on the possibilities of joint struggle against the attacks that the government may develop against LGBTI+ and women within the scope of the Family Year. The meeting ended with the wish to strengthen common grounds of struggle and the emphasis that LGBTI+ rights are also labor union rights.
