Erkan Baş, the chairperson of Workers’ Party of Turkey said: “Our political party will nominate an open homosexual as a candidate for MP. LGBTI+ organizations and platforms will determine this candidate.”
Workers’ Party of Turkey (TİP), met together with the journalists within the context of Working Journalists’ Day on January 10. The chairperson of TİP; Erkan Baş said “Our political party will nominate an open homosexual as a candidate for MP.” during this meeting.
The members of parliament answered the questions of journalists at the meeting which was arranged by the chairperson of TİP Erkan Baş, members of parliament Sera Kadıgil and Ahmet Şık in Kadıköy, in İstanbul, yesterday.
As reported by Beyza Kural, the chairperson of TİP Erkan Baş announced that they would support the candidate of the Nation Alliance if there is a chance to win at the first round and he spoke about the representation of LGBTI+s in politics: “Our political party will nominate an open homosexual as a candidate for MP. LGBTI+ organizations and platforms will determine this candidate.”
