After the Presidency of Religious Affairs targeted LGBTI+ individuals in last week's Friday sermon, this time, the President of Religious Affairs, Ali Erbaş, also targeted LGBTI+ individuals.

Speaking at the opening of the 7th Family Forum, held at the Kocatepe Mosque Conference Hall under the theme "Protection of Fitrah (human nature) and Family," Erbaş claimed that "gender is one of the most fundamental constants of fitrah" and said the following:

"People's beliefs, thoughts, consciences, and moral worlds, along with their identity, personality, and character structures, are shaped by the values of the family in which they are born and raised. From this perspective, the family is the strongest foundation for protecting fitrah, healthy socialization, and ensuring the continuity of the generations, and it is the primary source of individual and societal peace. This approach highlights the protective, nurturing, and life-enhancing functions of the family institution. Therefore, if the family fails to fulfill its expected functions, it becomes inevitable for both the individual and society to suffer. Any form of perverse ideology and understanding will spread throughout society."

Erbaş claimed that the family was being targeted and, by asserting that "developments in the genetic field that are changing the nature of existence" have reached a critical point, continued his hate speech as follows:

"At this point, humanity is confronted with a perverse mindset that views gender as a social problem and seeks to create a 'genderless' society by equating one gender with the other or by completely waging war on human nature. This mindset, which targets the family, has reached a point where it threatens the future of humanity. It must be known that the destruction of fitrah is the destruction of truth, law, and morality. Therefore, it is inevitable that societies which remain silent and indifferent to this degeneration of fitrah will be led to disaster."
