President's Chief Advisor and Vice President of the Presidential Legal Policy Board, Mehmet Uçum, targeted LGBTI+ individuals in a post on his X account regarding the recently discussed constitutional amendment.

Uçum, who argued that the protection of the family is one of the constitutional safeguards, used the term "de-gendering" to target LGBTI+ individuals in his definitions of "family" and "individual."

"Family: The family is protected by supporting and strengthening the natural family structure, taking all necessary measures against threats to the family."

"Individual: The individual is protected by ensuring their fundamental rights and freedoms, enabling self-expression, and taking measures against de-gendering."

In his post targeting LGBTI+ individuals, Uçum continued his remarks:

"In today's world, where open power struggles dominate, if a constitution fails to safeguard national identity and social order, the will of individuals and society to determine the country's law becomes vulnerable to the operations of global power centers. The survival of the state, the protection of the individual’s freedom and natural identity, the protection of the family, the welfare of society, and the unity of the nation can only be ensured through the right constitutional guarantee system."
