Pro-government newspaper Akit, targeted Notabene Publishing house that brought Kaos GL’s publications to book fair. Publishing houses condemned hate speech.
Pro-government newspaper Akit added their hate speech collection a new piece. This time Akit targeted Notabene Publishing house that brought Kaos GL’s publications to TUYAP Fair Convention and Congress Center.
In the aforementioned news titled “Perverts are in TUYAP”, Harun Sekmen, the author, used such expressions as “members of LGBTI, immoral, pervert propaganda”.
After the hate speech, Notabene Publishing house has made a statement in their social media accounts. In the statement, Notabene emphasized the continuous hate propaganda of Akit:
“…This is a clear example of a homophobic deviant…
“Such efforts reminding oppression and provocation will cause more resistance. Notabene Publishing house will continue its oppositional attitude in every field.”
After their statement, Ayrıntı Publishing house was the first one supporting the Notabene. Ayrıntı posted a tweet in their social media account saying “we are in the fair!”
Later on, Otonom publishing and Elpis publishing also wrote support messages to Kaos GL and Notabene in their social media accounts.
Elpis wrote: “We say that fields, fairs, books are ours; perversion, deviaton and harassment are yours!”.
