The Republican Women’s Association targeted LGBTI+ community in a press statement on June 10th. They urged the Parliament to enact an anti-LGBTI+ law.
According to the news in Pembe Hayat, Tülin Oygür, President of the Cumhuriyetçi Kadınlar Derneği (Republican Women’s Association), claimed in a press statement that LGBTI+ individuals “target the family and national state structure.” The statement was shared on social media with the titles “We want a law against the encouragement and organization of LGBT” and “Our children are at risk, Parliament is on duty.”
Some of the statements in the press release are as follows:
“The support of LGBT organizations by Western embassies and foundations with grant money explains it all. The embassies of the USA and other Western countries in Turkey provide millions of dollars in aid to LGBT organizations. These funds are used for LGBT propaganda under the guise of so-called gay rights. Can we really believe that the global powers backing Zionist Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people are donating this money for so-called gay rights?
You cannot impose LGBT ideology on the adult members of a society, but you can influence children with your collaborators in that society and make them vulnerable to abuse. Children's cartoons featuring same-sex kisses, same-sex parents, and genderless characters are not created without purpose. So-called children’s books with messages like ‘reject your family, choose the gender you want’ are not taught without intent. It's no coincidence that artists promoting LGBT themes have become prominent, and these works are also consumed in our country. The 1500 percent increase in sex reassignment operations for individuals under 18 in Sweden is attributed to LGBT influence. The primary target of LGBT is children and young people. We must recognize that LGBT is an imposition aimed at shaping the future.
Many states have taken action against LGBT ideology by passing laws that ban LGBT organizations and propaganda. People in Europe and the USA have started to voice their concerns, declaring, ‘we will protect our children and family.’ In our country, to protect the family against LGBT influences, the Great Family Platform, of which our Association is a part, organized Great Family Meetings attended by tens of thousands of people from diverse backgrounds and political views.
In June, the so-called ‘Pride Week’ activities of the LGBT movement take place. It is a great contradiction and very painful that these actions, which display all kinds of perversions and involve children, are called ‘Pride Week’. Unauthorized marches in our country, which have been banned by the Governorships in recent years, must be prevented.
Our struggle against the LGBT movement will continue. We will demonstrate our social resistance, but the concrete responsibility falls to the state. It is the duty of our state to protect its people and society. To safeguard our children, family institution, and national integrity, it is imperative to enact laws prohibiting LGBT propaganda and organization.”
