The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK) and Istanbul Family Foundation signed the "Cooperation Protocol on the Protection and Strengthening of the Family".

‘The agreement, which entered into force in 2025, stands out as a comprehensive step aiming to make digital media and television content in line with family values, to protect children from harmful content and to keep national and spiritual values alive through the media,’ RTUK said in a statement following the protocol.

RTUK President Ebubekir Şahin targeted LGBTI+'s in his statement on 7 March, the day the protocol was signed:

‘We will continue our fight against LGBT, which threatens all our national and moral values, including on-demand broadcasts, on every platform, and we will continue to take all necessary measures to prevent this perverted mentality from further damaging the Turkish family structure.’

Within the scope of the protocol, it is planned to create an application titled ‘Family Broadcasting Hour’. Within the scope of the protocol, short film, animation and documentary competitions supporting family unity will be organised and the production of cultural content that emphasises positive family values will be encouraged.
