Social work experts coming from Canada, The Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom will be coming together with academia and students at Hacettepe and Başkent Universities.
 
“Social Work for LGBTs” panels organized by Kaos GL in dedication to the International Human Rights Day as a part of the “Symposium Against Discriminations” will be held on December 13 Thursday at Hacettepe University and on December 14 Friday at Başkent University
 
December 13, Thursday at Hacettepe University
 
“Social Work Symposium: Social Work for LGBTs” panel will be held at Hacettepe University Social Work Department - Beytepe Campus, Salon K between 13:00-17:00 hours on December 13, Thursday.

December 14, Friday at Başkent University
 
Tess Vo, Onyii Udegbe, Juul van Hoof, Martyn Higgins and Hans Knutagard will be present at Başkent University too.
 
“Social Work Symposium: Social Work for LGBTs” panel will be held at Başkent University Health Sciences Faculty, Social Work Department, Room No.: 301 between 13:30-16:00 hours on December 14, Friday.
 
This panel will also host researcher Emre Özcan from the university with the title of “Approach of the Scientific Method in the Face of LGBT Movement”, as well as the moderator of the panel, Prof. Dr. Işıl Bulut, the head of the Social Work Department. 
 
December 15-16 at Ankara Bar Association
 
“Symposium Against Discriminations” will also tackle the fields of Education, Labour, Health and City, which will be discussed in panels at Ankara Bar Association on December 15-16, open to all audience.
 
Martyn Higgins, who will also be the panelist of the social work panels, will be speaking on December 15 with the title “Social Identities and Late Modern Society” in the “Human Rights, Pluralism and Equality – Opportunities of Defending The Rights of LGBTs” panel.
 
Hans Knutagard will be focusing on the invisibility of male victims of assault and rape at the workshop “The Invisible Men!” on December 16 between 10:00-12:00 hours.
 
Juul van Hoof will speak at the “Right to City: Housing, Places and the Genders of Cities” panel with the title “A Rainbow Over The City: A Local Approach to LGBT Citizens” on December 16 between 13:00-14:30 hours.
 
Onyii Udegbe will be speaking at the “Education Right: Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity” panel with the title “Terror and Ethics in Social Work: Navigating the Intersection of Critical Disability and Queer and Trans Perspectives in Service Delivery” on December 16 between 15:00-16:30 hours.
 
Tess Vo will be speaking at the “Right to Health: From Illness to Demanding Rigths - The Journey of Homosexuality” panel with the title “A Regular Check-Up: Health Inequities Impacting LGBTQ Communities” on December 16 between 17:00-18:30 hours.
