The Minister of Youth and Sports, Osman Aşkın Bak, targeted LGBTI+ individuals during an iftar program in Edirne, stating: "Now there are gender-neutralization and LGBT movements. That’s why we need to be very careful."

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Osman Aşkın Bak, has joined the race to target LGBTI+ individuals.
During an iftar program in Edirne on March 15, the minister used phrases like "gender-neutralization" and "LGBT movements" to single out LGBTI+ people.
In his speech, where he openly targeted the LGBTI+ community, Bak emphasized the so-called importance of a strong family and stated:
“Never even say ‘ugh’ to your parents because the foundation of the family is very important. Now there are gender-neutralization and LGBT movements. That’s why we need to be very careful. The family needs to be strong. Don’t be indifferent to society. Be involved in social issues. Don’t become captives of digitalization and the internet. Make sure to take an active role in society and have a voice. Get involved in politics. We will work together for a strong Turkey.”
