Green Left Party Co-Spokesperson Çiğdem Kılıçgün said “We reject this mentality targeting LGBTI+ existence” at the first group meeting of the new legislative session.
Green Left Party Co-Spokesperson Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar said “We reject this mentality targeting LGBTI+ existence” within the scope of her speech at the first parliamentary group meeting of the new legislative session, today (June 20).
Kılıçgün said: “Amidst primary targets of the government, which tries to normalize the violence, is LGBTI+s. We reject this mentality itself, which overtly points out their existence as a target and commits crime with hate speech. Our struggle against systematized discrimination and violence will go on.”

Kılıçgün also spoke of the criminal complaint filed by Security General Directorate against Green Left Party İstanbul MP Özgül Saki, who opposed to police violence during the 9th Trans Pride March, on the grounds that she compared police officers to “occupiers”: ”We have also something to say about the investigation our fellow MP Özgül Saki is facing. Her solidarity revealed the systematic violence of the state, we surely stand by her.”
