The Munich Turkish Film Days issued a solidarity statement regarding the ban on 12th Pink Life KuirFest. The message shared on their social media accounts included the following statements:
“As the Munich Turkish Film Days we condemn the ban of the 12th Pink Life KuirFest in Ankara / Turkey, which was ordered by the state half an hour before the opening.
We defend the unrestricted right to create new worlds through art. In an atmosphere in which living space for LGBTI+ people in Turkey is becoming increasingly limited, we stand resolutely by the Pink Life Association, all LGBTI+ people and queer cinema in Turkey.”
