Green Left Party Women’s Assembly declared its election manifesto. The manifesto includes struggle against discrimination targeting LGBTI+s and regulations regarding Penal Code of Turkey against hate crimes.

Green Left Party, of which Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) will run in election on the list on May 14 parliamentary elections, declared its election manifesto. Following the declaration of general election manifesto in the middle of the previous week, Women’s Assembly also declared its manifesto on April 2, in Ankara.
LGBTI+ rights took place in the manifesto under separate headings in the election manifesto of the Women’s Assembly. Some of the remarkable headings from the declaration are as follows:
*22 years of “one-man regime” passed into history as the period with the highest number of femicide. He granted criminal discounts to women murderers.
*The parliament will be the parliament of women, laborers, youth, LGBTI+s, people living with disabilities, children, cultures, beliefs, and all oppressed ones with our party.
*We are coming to establish a Ministry of Women, where women and women organizations directly develop solutions to all problems related to women!
*Courtrooms have become places that expose women to violence once again instead of judging the perpetrators and male murderers. Men, who slaughter women, are rewarded with unjust provocation and discretionary mitigation.
*We are coming to defend an ecology-based society and build the Democratic Republic with this principle!
*We will carry the İstanbul Convention, our guarantee, into effect and ensure its effective implementation with Law no. 6284. We will supervise it together with women's organizations.
* We will take necessary measures to eliminate discrimination against people due to their mother language, identity and culture, and against women, LGBTI+s, and migrant and refugee women, in their working places.
*We will amend the laws which encourage hate crimes and lead impunity and we will take necessary legal measures to protect women who are exposed to violence.
*We will end violation of fundamental rights such as torture, isolation, suspension and revocation of conditional release, banned prison visits, strip search and exile.
*We will eliminate all kind of violation of rights, inequality and discrimination, particularly hate murders, against LGBTI+s in social, cultural and political spheres.
*We will take necessary steps to terminate the discriminatory, marginalizing, polarizing and antagonizing language in the media via violent TV series, movies and programs.
*We will make regulations within the scope of Penal Code of Turkey in order to prevent hate crimes based on nationality, religion, language, belief, atheism, sexual orientation, gender identity and immigration.
*We, that is to say women, bear a major brunt of all disasters experienced. While women, people living with disabilities, refugees and LGBTI+s are exposed to discrimination and violence, protective mechanisms of the state don’t work.
*We will ensure that necessary health services and expenditures regarding the gender identities will be publicly funded.
