Workers’ Party of Turkey (TİP) İstanbul MP and Spokesperson Sera Kadıgil brought the violation of constitutional rights and hatred against LGBTI+s into the parliament by submitting a parliamentary question.

TİP MP Kadıgil’s parliamentary question includes the bans on Pride Month events, police attack against the activists during 9th Trans Pride March and suspension of teacher Emine Yahşi and school director Emine Kızıldağ due to holding a rainbow-themed report card ceremony in İstanbul.

The most prominent inquiries in Kadıgil’s parliamentary question to be responded by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya is as follows:

“Will any investigation be launched against public officials who intervened in the events by using disproportionate force  and the governors  who violated the Constitution by putting ban on events?

Why are there no interventions against groups that target LGBTI+s and pose a security risk at events by overtly threatening them?”

And the parliamentary question addressing the National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin includes the followings:

“What is the reasonable and legal justification  for the dismissal of 20-year teacher Emine Yahşi and the school director?

Under which article of which law do rainbow colors constitute a crime and by which law are they prohibited?”
