We share Tar's message for KaosGL.org readers:
As a result of the declaration of 2025 as ‘Family Year’, a draft law proposal leading to the ban on LGBTI+ propaganda came out. As far as I have read from the newspapers, we are faced with a draft that targets LGBTI+ rights as a whole under the pretext of ‘public morals’, simultaneously complicating the gender confirmation surgery process. Both the ambiguity of concepts such as ‘biological sex’ and ‘public morals’ and their transformation into a tool of political violence is a development that threatens not only LGBTI+ persons but also the entire democratic order. Therefore, it should be the duty of all democratic public opinion to prevent the enactment of this draft law. Being LGBTI+ is not a crime, it is a normal part of life. Hence, a situation such as ‘encouragement, motivation’ is also not possible. They are currently trying to control an ordinary part of life by implementing an extraordinary regime of violence. Long live life in spite of hatred.
