Intersex activists came together in Ankara to increase solidarity among intersex people, empower intersex community and discuss the future of organizing.
Intersex activists came together at the Intersex Wellbeing Camp in Ankara last weekend. During the camp, group workshops were held in the presence of social workers and psychologists, while Inter Solidarity's program for 2025 was also created.
In the first two days of the camp held on November 8-9-10, group workshops on storytelling, psychodrama, self-compassion and minority stress were held with psychologists and social workers. On the last day, Inter Solidarity's strategy and activity program for 2025 was developed.
During the camp, activists from Izmir, Istanbul and Ankara discussed the intersectionality of intersex issues with other movements, and how bringing together activists from the feminist movement, the children's rights movement and those working on bodily autonomy with the intersex movement could open up new opportunities for all parties. Accordingly, in 2025, joint events will be organized with trans organizations, organizations against sexual violence and activists from other movements.
An executive committee was also formed at the camp for Inter Solidarity to have a stronger decision-making mechanism.
