Dilek İnce Clothing Banks sent the first cargo of the year to trans prisoners: We can make them feel that they are not alone.

Since 2014 providing clothes to trans prisoner who needs support, Dilek İnce Clothing Bank has recently sent the first post of the year. Pink Life Association’s social work expert Şennur Ören told about the Clothes Bank to Kaos GL.org. Emphasizing that the Clothing Bank is a solidarity and support network, Ören said:

“4 times in a year, we send clothes to trans prisoners. In Dilek İnce Clothes Bank, it is possible to find everything that a person may need such as daily clothes, shoes, bags, underwear, etc. Additionally, any LGBTI person who needs such support can also come to the association and demand the clothes for themselves, and the Clothes Bank provides clothes for them as well.”

Underlying that the Clothes Bank is the way of showing the solidarity with all LGBTI prisoners, Ören said: “Besides the clothes, we are sending them letter to make them feel that they are not alone and we are struggling all together”

Who is Dilek Ince?

Dilek Ince, a trans women who has two kids, was killed as a result of a hate crime. After her murder, Pink Life Association honored her name in the Clothes Bank to show their support and solidarity to all transgender people.

Since its establishment, Dilek Ince Clothes Bank provide clothes to 370 people. The first post is shipped to Antalya, Tekirdağ, Mersin, Istanbul and Izmir.
