Kaos GL, advocating for the rights of  lesbians, gays, bisexuals and trans individuals, salutes May 17, the Day Against Homophobia!

May 17th, International Day Against Homophobia, is the day to act and stand out against all kinds of physical, moral or symbolic violence based on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation.

Kaos GL defends the necessity to improve human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) individuals and salute the Day Against Homophobia!

Kaos GL salutes May 17, International Day Against Homophobia against disrcimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, because...

We support spreading of works of LGBT organizations regarding organizing, developing freedom of expression and stopping discrimination...

We accept indisputability of human rights of LGBT individuals and declare that we are in solidarity with every work intended to provide visibility of such rights...

We want the ideas regarding a world in which liberation of LGBT individuals and heterosexuals will be possible together to be shared and discussed...

We know that LGBT individuals face homophobic and transphobic attitudes and acts in every area of life and are exposed to discrimination because of their gender identities and sexual orientations...

We can see the connections between homophobia and transphobia issues and different discriminations and we pay attention to the horizontal network built between fighting practices and freedom fights against such discriminations.

Discrimination can even reach hate murders…

Although 20 years have passed since May 17 1990, on which World Health Organization took homosexuality out of "International Classification of Illnesses", stigmatization and discrimination against LGBT individuals still continue.

Legal acts should immediately be taken against hate murders of LGBT individuals who are robbed off of their basic human rights.

Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Must be Recognized!

A constitution which doesn’t secure LGBT individuals against discriminations based on sexual orientation and gender identity cannot be an equitable, liberating or democratic.

We requests for acknowledgement of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity to put a legal security in the Constitution which will allow equal participation of LGBT individuals in every area of social life.
